Your real GPS speed next to the legal limit for the road you are on, with a voice that says "slow down" five km/h before you cross it. No ticket. No GH₵240.
One number you can read at arm's length in sunlight, the round limit sign where your eye learns to find it, and a whole-screen colour that tells you the state without reading.
Trips record themselves. Each one shows the route with red stretches where you were over, your max speed, and the estimated fine each episode would have cost.
An eight-week score, a day-by-hour grid of when you speed, and the five spots where you do it most. Most drivers find one road and one time of day.
SpeedGuard uses the GPS chip's Doppler speed, accurate to about 0.4 km/h, and discards any fix the chip is unsure about. Readings are smoothed so one bad fix can never set off an alarm, and an over-limit alert needs two fixes in a row. Your car's speedometer reads 3–8% high by design; this does not.
A chime five km/h under the limit, a repeating tone once over, "Thirty ahead" before a school.
The light sensor dims the screen and deepens the greens after dark. Red stays red.
Limits, alerts and history all live on the phone. No data needed on the N1.
Drop a 30 km/h circle at your child's school or a 100 on the motorway stretch you know. Your zones win over the map, and if you opt in they improve next month's map for everyone.
One tap reports a camera. Three independent reports make it visible to everyone. Off by default, because tripod and in-vehicle units move.
Speed, limit, Start and Mute on the head unit. CarPlay is on the iPhone roadmap.
A checklist to tell a real GPS-MTTD notice from a scam, the 14-day rule, and one-tap shortcuts to *710*0# and *220#.
Police enforce them whether or not a sign is posted. SpeedGuard assumes 50 km/h unless the map or your own zones say otherwise, and never guesses a higher limit than it can justify.
Fine per speeding offence on a sliding scale. The registered owner pays, whoever was driving.
To pay or contest after the SMS. Then 1% is added daily and DVLA blocks your licence renewal and roadworthiness.
Offences that bring a court-ordered suspension of at least 12 months, retraining and a new driving test.
Required. Cameras need not be signposted, and "there was no sign" is not a defence.

Closer than your car's speedometer, which reads 3–8% high by design. The target is 95% of readings within ±2 km/h at a steady 50–100 km/h, validated on the Accra–Tema Motorway, Spintex Road and a school zone before each release. When the GPS is weak the app shows a quality bar and says "GPS lost" rather than guessing.
Yes. The limit map, the alerts and the history all live on the phone. Data is used only if you turn on cloud backup, and for map tiles when you open a trip's route.
Posted signs always win. Add your own zone in Settings and the app uses it from then on. If you opt in, your correction goes into the next monthly map update for everyone.
It can show crowd-sourced camera locations, off by default. It is not a radar detector and does not interfere with any police equipment. Many camera units are mobile, so the only reliable protection is staying under the limit.
Nothing unless you ask it to. No account, phone number or plate. Trips stay on your phone. Cloud backup is opt-in and keyed by a random ID. Export everything as CSV or delete it all in one tap.
No. There is no fleet view and nothing is shared with anyone. The only way a trip leaves your phone is if you export it yourself.
